Wanted CEOs for the Induction Program for Chief Education Officers.

The DET and the ISEA are combining to conduct an Induction Program for Chief Education Officers beginning with an initial one-day meeting on the 27th February 2006.

The meeting will be held in the Wilkins Gallery in the DET Bridge Street Office and will be the first phase of a 3 part program which also includes on-going workplace support and access to on-line resources.

The initial meeting will address the Key accountabilities, roles, responsibilities, key resources and documents applicable to CEOs. It will also explain the on-going work-place support that is planned and the issue of managing professional learning and development. The current Salaries and Conditions Award for CEOs will be outlined and opportunities created to meet senior officers of the DET.

The DET will invite CEOs appointed in the last 3 months or so to attend this first meeting.

The ISEA has requested that CEOs appointed during 2005, and who believe that they would benefit from involvement in this program, should also be invited to attend. It is also believed that long-term Relieving or Acting CEOs should also have the opportunity to participate.

To provide the DET with a list of CEOs in these latter categories, the CEOs themselves or other ISEA members should contact the Executive Officer on ron.ikin@bigpond.com   as soon as possible and provide the following information:

• Name of CEO

• Title of Position

• Permanent/Temporary/Acting/ Relieving

• Location of Position

• Contact Phone Number and Email Address

• Date of Appointment 

• Expected Term of Appointment

• Reasons for seeking participation in the CEO's Induction Program

Given that there is very little time to issue invitations you are asked to give this request your urgent attention.
