ISEA TOUR TO NEW YORK, BOSTON AND TORONTO 2007
30th September to 14th October 2007

After the successful tours of 2005 to the UK and Germany and 2006 to the west coast of USA and Canada the ISEA is planning a third tour to the east coast of USA (New York and Boston) and Canada (Toronto) with a week-end at Niagara Falls.

The Tour will leave Sydney on Sunday 30th September and return on Sunday 14 October. These dates coincide with the Term 3 DET school vacation. The schedule allows for 4 nights in New York, 3 nights in Boston, 4 nights in Toronto and 1 night at Niagara Falls.

Visits to schools, universities and system authorities will be geared to the interests and responsibilities of the tour members.

Assistance in arranging appropriate visits and meetings will be provided by John Finlay in New York, Andy Hargreaves and Jerry Starratt in Boston, Michael Fullan, Lorna Earl and Ted Hunter in Toronto. Dr Alan Laughlin, former DD-G Schools in the DET, has also offered to assist with arranging visits in Toronto where he now does some consultancy work.

The Tour is sure to be of particular interest to educational leaders from all sectors of education including schools (principals and school executives) state and regional offices (directors, CEOs, consultants) and university staff working in the area of educational leadership development.

The estimated cost of the tour is $4,000 including Qantas airfares, twin share accommodation and internal travel. It does not include some meals, transfers, travel insurance or incidentals. Estimates are based on current quotations and of course these can vary although it is expected that the overall cost will not vary too much.
