On 23 January 2006, the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC) made the new Crown Employees (Chief Education Officers – Department of Education and Training) Salaries and Conditions Award 2006.

The award commenced on 1 January 2006 and has a nominal term of three years. During the three year term of the award, the salaries of Chief Education Officers will be increased by:

• 4% from the first pay period on or after 1 January 2006

• 4% from the first pay period on or after 1 January 2007

• 4% from the first pay period on or after 1 January 2008

Arrangements have been made with Human Resource Services and Systems to implement the first increase which is effective from 13 January 2006. advice concerning this new provision is forthcoming.
