DAY FOR CHANGE

25 October 2006
Supported by NSW Department of Education, UNICEF (Aust) and NSW Teachers Federation

All NSW Public Schools are encouraged to participate in the UNICEF Day for Change initiative on Universal Children's Day - 25 October 2006. Supported by the NSW Teachers Federation and the NSW Department of Education and Training, UNICEF Day for Change represents an unprecedented relationship between UNICEF and public schools.

UNICEF Day for Change is an extension of the core values that underpin public schools. More than an act of charity, UNICEF Day for Change encourages students to reflect not only on the plight of children in desperate circumstances but also the role they can play in creating a better world.

Every public school is encouraged to celebrate UNICEF Day for Change by holding a fundraising activity on 25 October.

With over 700,000 children attending public schools in NSW, UNICEF Day for Change creates the opportunity to raise a significant amount of money to make a real difference to some of UNICEF's projects for children's health and welfare.
